Getting your Passport Ready to Go

Your passport is your primary travel document, so it needs to be in good condition. Ensure that all pages are free of tears, stains, and water damage. Also, be sure that your passport’s biodata page is clear and legible. If you have an e-passport, check that it has a chip that can be scanned at border control jasa perpanjangan paspor.

A faulty passport can prevent you from traveling, especially in a country that has strict passport laws like Indonesia. The government has fined airlines and detained foreigners for a variety of reasons, including passports that were not in proper condition or expired.

An Australian tourist was detained in February at Ngurah Rai International Airport and held for questioning after an immigration officer found a thumbnail-sized tear in his passport. The incident raises the importance of checking the condition of your passport.

If you’re in doubt about the condition of your passport, schedule an appointment at your nearest Passport Health clinic to have it inspected by one of our travel medicine experts. We can provide an independent assessment of your passport and advise you on what steps to take to prepare for your trip, including acquiring any necessary travel vaccinations.

We will then provide you with a receipt for your passport. This will include a code that you will need to use when you contact the RPX courier service to collect your passport from the RPX office in Indonesia.

The RPX service will then return your passport to the address that you have specified when you scheduled your appointment. If you are unable to pick up your passport from the RPX location, we can provide a delivery service for a fee.

Taking Your Kids to Indonesia

If you are planning to bring your children to Indonesia, you will need to obtain a visa for them. This can be complicated, so make sure you have all of the paperwork ready to complete the application process.

Your child’s passport should be a valid US passport, or a passport issued by another country that can be used in Indonesia (e.g., British, Irish or Canadian passports). If your child has a non-US passport, they will need to apply for a visa from their country of residence.

Children must also provide color copies of their parents’ valid passports, if neither parent has a US passport. The child must also submit a letter of authorization from the parents for their travel.

Keeping your passport safe is vital to protecting yourself from potential scams and identity theft. Be sure to keep it in a secure place, and avoid displaying it to strangers. It’s also a good idea to have an emergency kit, which includes medicines, vaccines, and other essential items.
